Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
At Valley View, the Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident.
With the onset of colder weather and inevitability of getting colds or contracting the flu, it is important to take the simple precaution of hand washing to prevent getting and spreading germs. When visitors want to visit residents at Valley View, they should consider not coming, but calling instead if the cold or flu bug has hit them. This could help residents not to come down with anything.
Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday morning, Jeanette Baker and Frank Jereb played Wii Bowling. On Monday afternoon, three residents did Trivia. On Wednesday afternoon, eight residents played Bingo, and Doris Ledbetter won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Betty Dean, Jill Martin, Barbara Wise, and Lila Worden. On Saturday afternoon, five residents played Blackjack with Dora Martin winning.
On Sunday afternoon, four residents were offered Communion with Virginia Senne of the Presbyterian Church.
On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Hughes of the Abundant Life Fellowship led our church service, assisted by Doris Davis on the keyboard.
On Monday morning, residents listened to Brenda Zeiger read from Debbie Macomber’s Summer on Blossom Street in Reading Fun.
On Monday, three residents had Beef Wellington for Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center.
On Tuesday morning, Pastor Easterling offered Bible Study, assisted by his wife, Debbie, on the guitar.
On Wednesday morning, Janice Kerpan and Mildred Hennek gave seven ladies beautiful hairdos.
On Thursday morning, four residents had their nails done by Brenda Zeiger.
