Wesley Dale Burgess

orn Oct. 15, 1965, in Laramie, to Ellen and Orville Burgess and passed away Nov. 24, 2012, in Minot, N.D. Wes was raised in Rawlins and graduated from Rawlins High School in 1984. While in high school, Wes was an accomplished wrestler. He attended Casper College and received his Diesel Technician Certification in 1985. Wes worked as a diesel mechanic for several different companies throughout Wyoming over the years.

Wes was a beloved father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and life companion as well as treasured friend. He didn’t know a stranger and would help anyone in need. One of his favorite things in life was hunting. September and October always found Wes in the mountains chasing the ever-elusive Wapiti. He was very good at providing wild game for his family from the time he was old enough to hunt. Some of the best times for his family were spent camping and hunting. In his later years Wes found a love for Rendezvous and the black powder shooting events. He was a wonderful cook especially with his smoker.

Wes is survived by his son, Trenton, of Saratoga, daughter, Shaylee, and her boyfriend, Lane, of Casper, life companion and treasured friend, Tanya Stolns, of Casper. His parents, Ellen and Orville Burgess, of Encampment, brother Jack and Michelle Burgess, of Rawlins, niece Kalah, of Rawlins, niece Kirsten and great nephew Nickolas, of Casper, nephew Justin, of Rawlins, grandmother Wilma Kurtz, of Encampment, aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends.

There will be a celebration of life for Wes on Dec. 15, 2012, 1 p.m., at the American Legion in Saratoga. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wes Burgess Memorial fund at The Rawlins National Bank, PO Box 1290, Saratoga, Wyoming 82331.
