Three-way win for Lady Tigers

The Lady Tigers growled their way to the top against Farson-Eden’s Lady Pronghorns Saturday, with their first three-way home-game win of the 2013 volleyball season.
The final scores from that varsity matchup were 25-15, 25-19 and 25-20, with the Tigers showing no signs of slowing down on their home turf. The JV Lady Tigers also played earlier that Saturday, but lost 25-21 and 25-22 against Farson-Eden’s JV team.

Pantåhers defeat Baggs in first six-man game

Even as a brand new six-man football team, the Panthers proved they can already deliver the goods after their blistering 58-12 win over Little Snake River Valley.

Ladies play hard for Club Championship

The Saratoga Ladies Golf Team had a good competitive game of golf during Thursday’s Club Championship at the Saratoga Golf Course.
In First Flight, Dawna Erickson scored first place in first low gross, Lila Worden achieved second in first low net, Nancy Facciani garnered third in second low gross and Joni Johnson managed fourth in second low net.

Football starting up for middle school

Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students with an athletic drive can soon prepare for action on the football field this fall.
According to head coach Matt Shelby, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday students in grades sixth-through-eighth can sign up and check out equipment at Saratoga Middle/High School. The first practice is 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Saratoga Elementary School practice field.

SHS volleyball season gearing up to hit

Preseason practice for the Saratoga High School girls volleyball team begins Monday morning, with seven practices to follow throughout the week.
The team practices twice on both Monday and Tuesday, and only once for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Next week’s practice schedule is as follows:
Monday, Aug. 19, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 20, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Ladies play Stableford

A small group from the Saratoga Ladies Golf Team played “Stableford” July 11, with Lila Worden winning first place in first flight.
In Stableford, special points are given for birdies, pars, bogies and double bogies. One prize was given for first flight, as there were only two players.

Never too young to ride

Young horse riders from all over Carbon County trotted their stuff at the 2013 Encampment-Riverside Lions Club Horse Show, held Saturday at the Encampment-Riverside Lions Club Arena.
Child and teenage riders in five different age divisions participated in events such as western pleasure competition, reigning, barrel racing, keyhole racing and pole bending. The list of results are shown below.
