Rawlins Competes in Casper

 

The Rawlins Outlaw Indoor Track teams placed in the top 10 while competing in the Natrona County Indoor Track Invite on January 17 and 18. The Lady Outlaws placed seventh with 12.20 points across 16 scored events while the Outlaws placed eighth with 23.50 points across 15 scored events.

“We’re getting better every week”

Encampment Tiger Basketball was swept by the Saratoga Panthers in the battle of the Platte last Thursday.

Despite the rivalry loses, the Tigers are looking to continue improving week-by-week as the second half of the basketball season unfolds.

Panthers Sweep Battle of the Platte

The Valley is purple and gold after the Saratoga Panthers swept the Battle of the Platte, defeating the Encampment Tigers in the Panther Den last Thursday evening.

Both match-ups were close to begin but with bench depth, stout defense and a hometown crowd– the Panthers and Lady Panthers were able to seize 54-31 and 62-21 victories, respectively.

Outlaws Struggle in Buffalo

 

The Rawlins Outlaws were on the road last week as they faced the Buffalo Bison, one of the top teams in the 3A East Conference. Ultimately, Rawlins was dealt a nearly 20-point loss by the Bison.

“They shoot the ball extremely well and have a lot of size,” said Head Coach David Greninger. “We didn’t execute our game plan very well and they took advantage of that.”

Middle School Tigers Take the Court

“Super young but extremely great attitudes and very coachable,” Encampment Head Middle School Basketball Coach Daniel Greenwood said of his Tigers this season.

With the middle school boys’ basketball season underway, Encampment has the largest roster Greenwood has coached in his four seasons leading the Tigers. Of the 17 players, there’s one eighth grader, one seventh grader and 15 fifth and sixth graders.

Arnold and Anderson Win Tournament in Kemmerer

The Saratoga Panthers Wrestling Team competed at the Joe Aimone Invite in Kemmerer last month and crossed the state line for the West Grand Tournament in Kremmiling, Colo. on Jan. 3.

“We had a great tournament with a lot of matches,” Head Coach Rusty Arnold said. “All the kids wrestled well. We were fighting some sickness.”
