The Saratoga Panthers put on a dominant performance against the Encampment Tigers on the road. Everything went right for the Panthers both on offense and defense and it showed. The SMHS wrestling squad traveled to Lander last weekend, missing much of it’s squad, to compete in both a varsity and JV tournament. While Old Man Winter’s subzero temperatures canceled a number of games over the weekend, the Encampment Tigers hosted the Farson-Eden Pronghorns for their first conference game of the season. The SMHS wrestling team traveled to Shoshoni for a dual tournament, which brought mixed results. Shoshoni is one of the few events in the state that doesn’t use digital scoring and recording, so all of the results and match records come via the work of volunteer parents. There was a battle of big cats at Saratoga High School Friday night, when the Cougars of Wind River visited the local Lady Panthers. For the third consecutive season the Wyoming Cowboys will be playing in a bowl game, which is the first time that has happened in Wyoming school history. The Cowboys have accepted an invitation to the 2023 Bartstool Sports Arizona Bowl, marking the second consecutive year the Pokes will play in Tucson and the third time in the past five seasons.
