Richard A. Williams, 85, of Encampment, left this earth Nov. 7, 2013 while living at his daughter’s home in Cheyenne. He was born July 7, 1928 in Laramie to Evan John and Bessie Stewart Williams and spent his early years in several locations in the Medicine Bows where his father was a forest ranger. Jessie F. “Nonnie” Covey, 87, died Nov. 3, 2013, in Rawlins. Memorial services took place Wednesday at the Wamsutter Baptist Church. Allen Shelton officiated. Nonnie was born March 25, 1926 in Nettleton, Ark., to parents Pearl (Hudson) and D.H. Fielder. She was married to Lloyd “Red” Covey in Reno, Nev., on April 14, 1944. Coal-fired plants are being threatened. The Environmental Protection Agency has proposed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants. There is one major problem with this proposal. The technology to reduce carbon dioxide emissions to the standards the EPA has proposed does not exist and working power plants would have to shut down. Russell Eugene Sartin, 67 of Newberg, Ore., went to Heaven on Oct. 24, 2013. Russ was born in Shannon County, Mo., on July 29, 1946. He graduated from Encampment High School in 1964 and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam. Russ married Amy Sandra Case in 1970. They lived in Encampment and Saratoga until the mid 1980s. He married Susan Ann Herring (formerly of Saratoga) in 1990. They made their home in Newberg, Ore., until she passed away in 2008. Dr. Richard Wilson Gerhardt of Greenville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013. He was born July 6, 1925 in Hillsboro, Ill., one of four children of William Charles Gerhardt and Faye Genevieve Emery. Raised in Hillsboro and Irving, his family moved to Wyoming when he was 11. Barbara T. Wright, 74, passed away Oct. 24, 2013. She is predeceased by her father Randolph Thomas, mother Olene Thomas, and her brother Randy. Barbara is survived by her only child Thomas Foster Wright, sister-in-law Anita Thomas and numerous cousins. Barbara attended Jacksonville University and graduated with an Arts History Major. Marion Grace Huston Barkhurst, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Sept. 30, 2013 with family gathered at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie. With his wife and three daughters at his side, Dwight Briggs entered heaven on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013. He was 67. After a brave fight against pancreatic cancer, Dwight passed away peacefully in his home.
