Early in life the family moved to Wyoming to work in the coal mines and for the Union Pacific Railroad.     Herbert Douglas Viner passed away on Jan. 14, 2015. Herbert was born July 25, 1928 in Laramie, the first son of Frank Lott Viner Jr., and Aleen Fanning Viner. He served on board the USS Alabama at the very end of WWII and lived nearly all of his life in West Laramie. Mr. Viner was the custodian at the University of Wyoming’s Coe Library for nearly 30 years.
