The Valley Service Organization is hosting the Snowshoe Shuffle, Tuesday night snowshoe hike events, again this year after they gained popularity last year. According to a press release, the hikes are different each week and are followed by a short visit to a different bar or restaurant for snacks and refreshments. The first hikes have already occurred, and they meet at 6 p.m. either at the U.S. Forest Service office or the hike location. Tammy Guerra, of Parker, Colo., could be the first woman in the 33-year history of the fishing derby to win the tournament. Michael Patterson (you probably know him as 'Hack') has participated in every Saratoga Lake Ice Fishing Derby. That's more than 30 derbies since the first one in 1983. "I can't imagine missing one or where I would have been or why. At least last year I told them I have been," Patterson said. Zachary and Aya Laux are proud to announce the birth of their son, Isaac Takashi Laux. Isaac was born at 5:52 a.m. Sept. 5, 2015 at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colo. He weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Takashi and Hisako Murakami, of Tokyo. Paternal grandparents are James and Josephine Laux, of Laramie.
