    At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.     1 years ago July 3, 1913 Monster Piece of Artillery A crowd of the curious gathered at the Union Pacific depot yesterday afternoon to inspect a 14-inch gun which was en route to San Francisco to be used in Pacific coast defense. The giant weapon is mounted on flat cars of unusual length, to which it is strapped with iron bands. Its weight is 127,000 pounds, or 63 1-2 tons.     All is well in Encampment, although June flew by way too fast. We kept an eye on blood pressures of 40 people this month, thanks so much to Helen Weilend for Volunteering to do blood pressures this month. We have had 58 coffee drinkers in as of Friday. Quilters have been sewing away on Miss Nancy’s Quilt. We have had over 100 game players throughout this month. Our faithful volunteers deliver the home delivery meal and Kim and I appreciate it. Salathe and D. van Wagner, geologists, have discovered a perfect silicified skeleton of a very large flying lizard. It measures about 70 feet in length and has a spread of wings nearly 80 feet.
