    Several children got to know a little bit more about Jesus after participating in this year’s Vacation Bible School.     Eva and Philip Robinson, of Encampment, announce the birth of their son Landon Trevor Robinson who was born at 1:51 p.m. June 28, 2013 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital. Landon weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces and was 17.5 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Kathleen and James Lane, of Saratoga. Paternal grandparents are Cordy and Woody Crawford, of Laramie.     The 92nd annual convention of the Wyoming American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) held in Cheyenne June 26-29, was attended by Unit 54 President Fran Payne-Rogers, secretary Pat Faust and historian Kathleen Martin. Serving the Department for 2013 Unit 54 members were Martin, Junior Activities Co-chairman, and Fran Payne, Public Relations. Following the opening of the convention, processional was led by Pat (Payne) Faust, past Unit 54 department president, followed by 10 other past department presidents.     At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident. Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday morning, two residents played Wii Bowling. On Sunday afternoon, six residents played Uno with Edith Donnis winning.     There were five here to play bingo Tuesday. Two-dollar winners were Pat Faust and Dorothy Miller. Madaline Forbes and Winnie Allen shared the blackout round. There were three tables for Duplicate Bridge this week. High winners were Sheila Johnson and Marianne Blue. Second high went to Pat Bailey and John Blue. We were pleased to have Hons Nikolaes and Dorothy Miller here to entertain us last week. He plays the accordion and Dorothy plays the washboard. It was so much fun to listen to them.     Well, another Birthday/ Anniversary Evening on July 19, we had the pleasure of serving 49. There were two tables of Dominos and one Bridge Table playing after dinner, played well past my bed time. One birthday shared by Rosemary Craighead, Anniversary’s were Nick & Karen Casson, John & Sharron Platt with the Platt’s winning the meal tickets.     1 years ago July 3, 1913 Monster Piece of Artillery A crowd of the curious gathered at the Union Pacific depot yesterday afternoon to inspect a 14-inch gun which was en route to San Francisco to be used in Pacific coast defense. The giant weapon is mounted on flat cars of unusual length, to which it is strapped with iron bands. Its weight is 127,000 pounds, or 63 1-2 tons.
