    Saratoga residents Jack and Dorothy Sintek will celebrate 60 years of married life in Carbon County this year. Dorothy moved to Carbon County in 1952, the year she graduated high school. She moved to Rawlins the day after graduation and went to work at Memorial Hospital, where she was employed for two years. Jack graduated from high school while in the Army in 1951, then served in Korea and was discharged in 1952. He also worked for the Highway Department and Sinclair. The two...

Going back to their teenage years, Richard said he first met the former Gloria Esterby at Minot Model High School in Minot, North Dakota.     There were five here to play bingo on Tuesday. Two-dollar winners were Janet Lasco, and Betty Dean. Madaline Forbes won the $3 blackout round. We were closed for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday so there was not any bridge. I now have the forms for the Elderly and Disabled Tax Returns.     The Carbon County 4-H Foundation has awarded scholarships to two students from the Platte Valley. Micayla Crimmins, a 2013 Saratoga High School graduate, was given a $450 foundation scholarship. Brett Miller, an Encampment High School student, was awarded the $500 4-H Stallion Service Auction scholarship. These scholarships will be used for the 2014-15 semester.
