This is an old story and we don’t believe the legislature this time will fall for it any quicker than in the past. The only branch hatchery that was ever worth a cent in this state was the Saratoga Station, and it was eventually lost. The Saratoga Ice Fishing Derby has become an annual tradition for four men from Wheatland, Wyo. Doug Kinsley has been coming to the fishing derby for 15 years. Kinsley started coming with this brother-in-law in 1990. He has seen several changes in the derby when the money was for the tagged fish, then for the big fish and now for both. The second in a series of evening snowshoe/cross country ski outings organized by the Valley Service Organization (VSO) is 6:30 on Tuesday at Medicine Bow Lodge on WYO 130. On Dec. 8, the Saratoga High School team of seniors in the “We are the People” competition qualified for the Wyoming State Finals to be held in Laramie, Jan. 26. The Saratoga team was the only 2A team to move forward, the rest of the teams were from 4A schools that participate in an advanced placement government course.
