    The 20th Annual Chili Competition will take place on Saturday, Aug. 15 at Veterans Island Park in Saratoga during the Microbrew Festival.     Jerry Wood, stone sculptor in Saratoga, will be a judge for the Art on the Green competition in Green River, Wyo. on Aug. 14 and 15. Wood was originally asked to be a participant in the competition, however he did not feel that it was feasible to complete that work in stone due to time limitations. “I was going to participate in it last year,” Wood said.     A resurfacing project similar to that which motorists have been experiencing on WYO 130, north of Saratoga, has begun on Snowy Range Road. The area of the resurfacing project covers 14.3 miles; however, the actual work area is 16 miles because of posted signs, according to Kory Cramer, resident engineer for the Wyoming Department of Transportation.     I hope everyone had a good weekend and enjoyed some of the festivities. I enjoyed listening to the music and poetry at the Cowboy Gathering. Events coming this weekend are WhatFest in Riverside and the Mountainman Rendezvous at the Museum grounds. We had 40 people for our evening meal. It was good to see everyone.     Melissa Broughton, who lived with her family on ranches in south central Wyoming and northern Colorado, including Gingerquill Ranch east of Encampment, recently self published a book about alcoholism and the cowboy lifestyle, "Cowboy Dad." Her father, Randy Broughton, died six years ago of alcohol related causes. Though the book is self-published, Broughton worked hard to maintain a professional product, which she largely credits to the help of a professional editor....

Accommodations are first come first serve and will be provided at Riverside Garage, where they can fit about 150-160 tents for the cost of a small donation to Riverside Garage.
