Spirits were high and excited voices filled the Platte Valley Community Center Great Hall for the 8th annual C.J. Box Trivia event sponsored by the Saratoga Museum. Pam and Scott Thayer are well known in Rawlins and Carbon County for their work and volunteer efforts. They were still surprised and honored when Scott was picked to be the Grand Marshal of the Carbon County Fair in 2022. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation-Platte Valley Chapter held its 31st Annual Fundraising banquet and auction at the Platte Valley Community Center on August 6th. The Town of Encampment sponsored a tasty barbeque and lots of goodies on August 6. The music from "Pert Near Sandstone musicians, Sipe and Kniebel, J Lenz, Justin Bruhn and Matt Cartier gave us a taste of folksy, Americana style music with a modern twist. Platte Valley Arts Council invites the public to join them on Saturday, September 3 for the Public Art Project Grand Reveal Event. The Platte Valley Arts Council (PVAC) is pleased to present a mural of the cartoon characters "Flo and Elmo." This work will be "paint-by-number" style and completed by anyone who would like to help. Students at the local schools will help by mixing colors and labeling the spaces.
