Dorman James Ewing was born on Nov. 10, 1927 to Amos and Helen (Warner) Ewing in a ranch house east of Sundance, Wyo. When he was nine years old, the family moved to a ranch they bought on Houston Creek, west of Sundance, where he grew up. He attended rural Crook County Schools.     Sunday morning, Encampment and Riverside volunteers worked together planting trees along WY Highway 70. The Encampment/Riverside Tree Beautification project was organized by Lee Ann Stephenson, after she noticed that the trees along Highway 70 had died. Stephenson who often walks along Highway 70 from Riverside to Encampment enjoys the bluebirds that fly in the area and wanted to improve their habitat and beautify the area along the highway.     The Town of Encampment passed the 2014/2015 budget on its third and final reading Thursday evening. The council also amended the 2013/2014 budget. The 2014/15 budget is balanced to reflect revenue and expenditures of $1,243,196.04. The council approved a $2 water rate increase, and to raise the irrigation rate. Town Clerk/Treasurer Jan Cook said the filing period for people interested in running for office positions in the general election is May 15-30.
