For more than 30 years, the Platte Valley Arts Council (PVAC) has pursued its motto of keeping art in people’s everyday lives.

On February 24, PVAC President Stacy Crimmins gave attendees of Tuesday Talks a history of the non-profit organization and news that it would be awarding more than $5,000 in scholarships this year.

Lady Panthers Season Comes to End

The Saratoga Lady Panthers season ended with one win and two losses during the 1A West Regional Tournament in Lander last weekend.

To start the tournament, the fourth seeded Lady Panthers faced the top ranked Burlington Huskies. The two teams faced off during the Carbon County Classic in December with the Huskies winning by a last second buzzer beater.

Panthers Are Regional Champs

The Saratoga Panther Boys’ Basketball Team are 2026 1A West Regional Tournament Champions.

The Panthers finished undefeated in Lander last weekend–avenging two regular season losses against Cokeville in the final and secured the top seed heading into the State Championships this weekend.

Lady Outlaws End Regular Season

The Rawlins Lady Outlaws held their final game of the regular season at home as they were dealt a loss by the Glenrock Lady Herders on Feb. 28.

The Rawlins Outlaws ended their regular season hosting the Glenrock Herders on Feb. 28, a tight game resulting in a buzzer-beater loss for Rawlins.

Heading into the game, the Outlaws had a tough series of games as they were dealt conference losses by the Torrington Trailblazers and the Wheatland Bulldogs. Glenrock, meanwhile, hadn’t had a win since defeating the Wright Panthers in overtime on Feb. 6.

Outlaws Wrestle Back to the Podium

The Rawlins High School wrestling teams fought all season to be ready for the most important tournament of the year, and their hard work paid off with the boys’ team capturing a fourth-place spot on the podium – their first team podium finish since 1994.
