Speech Night Monday: Speech students set to perform at Community Center

Carbon County speech team students are preparing to show off their public speaking skills at “Speech Night,” happening this upcoming Monday at the Platte Valley Community Center.

Carbon County Library celebrates National Library Week: Help celebrate National Library Week from April 14-20 by visiting your local library

Teens, ages 11-18, have an opportunity to win an Amazon gift card by using a camera and their creative side. They will stack books and use the spine labels to create their own poem. With this experiment, known as “bookspine poetry,” students get to have fun making interesting poems from random book titles. The books are stacked on top of one another, and the created poems are read from the book spines top to bottom.
