Another look at the Prodigal Son

I met him 35 years ago.  His name is not important, but you might recognize him, or someone like him, or maybe he is you.  He was raised, the oldest son, in a middle -class family.  His father and mother were both high school teachers. The family attended church regularly, and as a youth and as an adult he participated in leadership roles in his church.  One might describe him as the ‘hero’ in his family.

All’s well for next ‘Gather at the Table’

After a month’s delay, all’s well with both the head cook and chief bottle washer as well as other volunteers as they prepare to “Gather at the Table” for a springtime barbeque Monday evening, April 7th, from 5:00 to 6:30 in the Saratoga Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at the corner of Third & Bridge.

The Mysteries of the Faith

For Many Churches, there is no mystery in the Sacrament of the Altar.  For these churches (Baptist, Methodist, and many non-denominational churches) all that one receives in communion is bread and wine.  All mystery has been stripped away.

LIVING ON PURPOSE – God’s commands includes His enablement

Every Christian has been given a mission and some type of ministry. Gifts, talents, and special abilities are distributed from God within the personal blueprint of our calling. Yes, all of God’s people have the responsibility to pray and obey, but like our fingerprints, each mission is unique.

Baked Fish With Crispy Bread Crumbs

I have multiple sources for my recipes. Most of my them are heavily adapted from a variety of sources. I will often take multiple recipes for the same dish and combine the best parts to ‘make it my own.’ Others are handed down from family cookbooks. And sometimes I come across a recipe that is just fine without any alteration. This recipe for baked fish is one of those.

Little Learners

Saratoga's Finest 4-H club met on March 4th, 2025. Once the February minutes were approved our Activity Director, Shelly Larson, made a game where everyone added on to a story. Shelly did an amazing job at planning the activity.
