Jam session Tuesday night

There were five here to play Bingo Tuesday. Two-dollar winners were Dorothy Miller and Madaline Forbes. Bernneil McCord won the $4 blackout round.
There were two-and-a-half tables for Duplicate Bridge this week. There was a tie for high winners between Mariel O’Grady and Vivien Campbell and Mary Alice Sjoden and Sheila Johnson. There was also a tie for second high between Barb Wise and Lori Walck and Pat Bailey and Marianne Blue.

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Monster Piece of Artillery
A crowd of the curious gathered at the Union Pacific depot yesterday afternoon to inspect a 14-inch gun which was en route to San Francisco to be used in Pacific coast defense.
The giant weapon is mounted on flat cars of unusual length, to which it is strapped with iron bands. Its weight is 127,000 pounds, or 63 1-2 tons.
