Club notes: American Legion Auxiliary

The 92nd annual convention of the Wyoming American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) held in Cheyenne June 26-29, was attended by Unit 54 President Fran Payne-Rogers, secretary Pat Faust and historian Kathleen Martin. Serving the Department for 2013 Unit 54 members were Martin, Junior Activities Co-chairman, and Fran Payne, Public Relations.

Birth: Landon Trevor Robinson

Eva and Philip Robinson, of Encampment, announce the birth of their son Landon Trevor Robinson who was born at 1:51 p.m. June 28, 2013 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital. Landon weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces and was 17.5 inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Kathleen and James Lane, of Saratoga. Paternal grandparents are Cordy and Woody Crawford, of Laramie.
Logan, 7, and Lane, 5, welcome their new brother into the family.

Birth announcement: Macy Marie Shockley

Erin and Luke Shockley announce the birth of their daughter, Macy Marie Shockley, born June 27, 2013 in Cheyenne where the couple made their home. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 20 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Candy and Steve Moulton of Encampment. Maternal great-grandmother is Betty M. Vyvey, also of Encampment. Paternal grandparents are Penny and Jack Shockley of Cheyenne.

Awana kids, Big Brothers Big Sisters brighten up Deseret

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Summer picnic coming soon

There were seven at the Senior Center to play Bingo Tuesday. Two-dollar winners were Janet Lasco and Winnie Allen. Dorothy Miller and Winnie Allen shared a $2 round as did Berneil McCord and Janet Lasco.
Berneil McCord and Dorothy Miller shared the $5 blackout round.
There were two tables for Duplicate Bridge this week. High winners were Pat Bailey and Sheila Johnson. Second high went to Marilyn Walck and Bob Johnson.

Our coffee ladies are faithful as ever, Laura R., Jo B., Connie B., Patty H., Ladawn V., and Arleigh S. We had eight quilters this last Thursday, Nancy L, Karen C, Rosalie C., Kay F., Sandy Miller., Jo R., Betty M., and Lila Walbye.
