Mary, Gary, how does your garden grow?

Gary and Mary Jacobsen, owners of Doggett Greenhouse, want to be the business of the year every year in the eyes of their customers.
When they were recognized as Business of the Year by the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce through a vote of their business peers, they were really surprised.
“Every year is competitive,” Gary said of the Business of the Year competition. “We have a lot to choose from.”

Cooks working on new recipes

Evelyn, Sheila, Rosemary, Kay, and Vivien played bridge this week.
Ellie was in on Thursday to do blood pressures. There was a good line of folks taking advantage of that service. Thanks again, Ellie.
The quilters didn’t share anything new on that raffle quilt. I am sure it is still making progress.

Activity assistant gets training

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Line dancing starts today at center

We play duplicate bridge at the Senior Center on Monday at 1 p.m. If you would like to play call me at the Senior Center and I will put you on the list.
We would really like to get some more players.
There were two-and-a-half tables for duplicate bridge on Monday. High winners were Bob Johnson and Mary Alice Sjoden. Second high went to Sheila Johnson and Evelyn Hammer.

Birthday dinner draws 37

We had a very good time at our birthday and anniversary dinner Friday night. Meals were served to 37 people.
Mr. and Mrs. Riddick won the lunch tickets. Bingo was the entertainment for the night, Bill Wadsworth, Mr. and Mrs. Telfer, Betty Merrill, Mr. and Mrs. Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Ballard and Mr. and Mrs. Miller played for cash prizes
