A set of economic indicators published by the Economic Analysis Division of the State of Wyoming Department of Administration and Information this month show mixed results as the state’s economy struggles to improve from languid performance the last couple years. Economic indicators for the two largest cities in the state, Casper and Cheyenne, show disparities in how robust economic activity is in the two cities, and statewide figures still show economic activity in the state is below that of the post 2007-2008 recession high in 2014. Nov 22, 2017

There is a guy out there who, according to western legend, puts people to sleep by sprinkling magical sand onto people’s eyes. That guy is the Sandman. He even has a famous song: “Mr. Sandman.” Yeah, well, the Sandman needs to hire some Sandlings, because he has apparently fallen asleep on the job. Some soporific servants might be a good thing. He probably doesn’t want to add anyone though. I hear Sleep Stewards Local 101 is a tough union. Of course, all this may be tied to the supernatural sedative sand shortage of ’16. Whatever. I think it... Full story

  • Big things from a little cowboy

    Nov 22, 2017

Tuker Carricato is a polite, but ever so laconic young preteen who lives in the Valley. Because he's a man of very few words, it's a fair bet that a lot of Valley residents have not heard of him. But his accomplishments in his relatively nascent career as a rodeo rider warrant just a bit of notoriety, since it seems he just may be one of the sport's rising stars. Carricato started riding a spur board last January and parlayed that into a great start,... Full story
