    Here comes my favorite months of the year, we have a lot going on this month. Always much thanks to our volunteers, Bill and Madeline Telfer, Bob and Lois Thompson, Vonda Wieburg, Nancy Lynch and Laura Rettelie. You all allow this facility to run with a special touch.     The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rawlins Field Office (RFO) has released the environmental assessment (EA) for the North Platte River Recreation Area Management Plan (RAMP), which includes additions planned for the Corral Creek and Bennett Peak Campgrounds.     What does Saratoga have in common with Las Vegas, San Diego and Los Angeles? Bobby Chitwood. Chitwood and his band started their 10-day tour promoting their new album, “Gravity”, Thursday. The band started it at Duke’s Bar and Grill in Saratoga. Friday morning they headed for Las Vegas. When the band is not on tour with Chitwood, they are working for other artists or bands.     The holidays are not the only time food is needed at the Platte Valley Food Pantry. The American Legion recently discovered the Platte Valley Food Pantry is in need of non-perishable goods, and is conducting a food drive at the post home, adjuntant Deb Clark said.   • Explosion erupts at Sinclair refinery

    An explosion and subsequent fire occurred at the Sinclair Oil Refinery Friday night. Sinclair Chief of Police Jeff Sanders said he reported to the incident at about 10:04 p.m. and conducted scene control until 3 a.m. Sanders said no injuries were reported. Spokesman for Sinclair Oil Corp.     Model T Ford of America members traveled to Saratoga Sunday. The “Leaf Peeper Tour” came from as far as Missouri to enjoy the fall colors over Snowy Range Sunday. “It is one of the most beautiful drives there is,” Dave Huson, of Longmont, Colo., said.
