Members of the Saratoga Town Council and the Saratoga Planning Commission met Tuesday to move the town’s proposed Planned Unit Development (PUD) ordinance closer to a vote. There is at least one appliance I have yet to mention in my periodic discourses on such things. It has become invaluable tool in our everyday life, but it didn’t start that way. That device was … the telegraph! Alright. No. But the telegraph was the precursor to Alexander Graham Bell’s 1876 invention, the telephone. While the original telephones were not much more than an electrified tin can and string system, they soon became widespread and commercialized. In 1877 the Bell Telephone Company was founded and 3,000 private phones were activ... Full story

Caroline took the job, but can only work part time until Marie is old enough f... Full story

The Encampment Lady Tigers spent Friday and Saturday at the home of Valley rival Saratoga Panthers for the Saratoga Invite. While in the house of purple and gold, the Tigers did not square off against the Panthers or 2016 division champion Little Snake River Valley, which took the state championship in a huge letdown for the Tigers last year. The team did however take on five other teams over the course of the tournament, beating them all and beginning the year yet again with an undefeated streak, save for the narrow loss of one game during...
