Hello all, The police department has been getting some complaints about dogs not being on a leash in public places. The biggest area of complaint is at Veterans Island. I do realize that at Veterans Island, the island is somewhat of a confined area, nevertheless the Municipal Ordinance still prohibits dogs running without a leash. This year the town of Encampment has a 'refurbished' archery range that many feel will get increased usage this season. Mychaela Jackman, 14, of Saratoga, has been named the Carbon County Fair Lady-in-Waiting for 2015. A former rodeo competitor, Jackman will be seen at the State Fair as well as the Carbon County Fair and rodeos throughout Carbon County until the next year when a new lady-in-waiting is announced.
