Edward M. Dettinger, a resident of Rawlins, Wyo., since 1991 (and previously from 1977 until 1985) passed away at his home June 8, 2016. Edward was born in 1942 in Saratoga, Wyo.(Parents James and Serene Dettinger). He attended school in Encampment and Ryan Park. Edward and his family moved to California in 1951, where he graduated from South Torrance High School in 1960. The fates of two separate development projects likely hinge on zone change amendments that have to pass through the Saratoga Planning Commission, and neither got the nod from the commission at a July 12 meeting attended by around 10 people. At a July 14 meeting of the Saratoga Airport Board, Dave Shultz of Sage Engineering said that a taxilane rehabilitation project that contractors had been working on since spring passed final inspection and is effectively complete. Now all that’s left to figure out is who owes what. The Encampment Town Council meeting Thursday wound up going to the dogs, with two-thirds of the hour-long meeting being devoted to issues surrounding packs of unattended dogs running amok in the town. Council members and local residents debated how to deal with the problem of the loose dogs after a local resident, Shawn Frink, told the council his girlfriend was bitten on the leg while outside. Riverside Town Council met on Thursday to iron out some housekeeping issues in the small town, and very quickly worked though the agenda. After sorting out issues with a lawnmower the town purchased that was not shipped with needed parts by the dealer, the town council voted to accept a food bid for the Riverside Party Days from the Bear Trap restaurant, the only supplier who bid. When the fourth of July rolled around this year, Joleigh and Koen Shahadey wanted to celebrate their patriotism with more than fireworks and parades.
