    After several months of long budget discussions, Carbon County School District No. 2 decided three was the magic number for a sound budget.     The overall budgetary goal of the town of Saratoga is to sustain what it already has. According to the town’s new treasurer, Joe Elder, the goal is realistic within the proposed budget. “We kind of have a pretty good picture of what we have,” Elder said.     Encampment High School contributed two state qualifiers from the team’s weekend track meets in Rawlins and Saratoga. Waddie Love pre-qualified for state with his first-place shot put throw of 39’9” at the Saratoga Invite, and Alyssa Barkhurst pre-qualified with her Rawlins Invite performances in the the long jump (15’9”), 100 meter hurdles (17.61, first place) and 200 meter dash (28.56, first place).     Saratoga High School’s golf team scored a good number of individual points at their recent tournament last Friday in Rawlins. The tournament took place at the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course in Rawlins and included participation from six team members. “Unfortunately, there were no medal winners, but I was proud of the kids,” said coach Matt Daubner. “It was a tough golf course and the first tournament of the year.     Those who were in the Jeffrey Center in Rawlins April 10 found several posters with a red line illustrated crossing through Carbon County, as well as 20 other counties.
