As the sun rises over the Cow Creek, Jim Miller has already checked on the calves, made a few phone calls and is putting hay in the feeder for the heifers. Jim and his wife Shirley run a 300-head cow/calf operation. The steer calves are shipped to Kansas in the fall where they are eventually marketed to Japan. There were nine here to play bingo on Tuesday. Two-dollar winners were Betty Dean, Nadene Kerbs, Berneil McCord, Lila Worden, and Winnie Allen. Betty Dean, won the $5 blackout round. There were four here for duplicate bridge Monday. First place went to Bob Johnson. Second place went to Mary Sjoden. You can tell it is almost spring. Some of the snowbirds are coming back. Games provide laughter and socialization with other residents and are a big component of the program. On Sunday afternoon, five residents played Dominoes with Janet Kennaday winning. On Tuesday morning, five residents played Yahtzee with Elaine Burge winning. On Wednesday afternoon, 12 residents played Bingo, and Friday afternoon, 14 resident played Bingo.
