Last summer, my wife and I finally broke down and bought my son a cell phone. He’s getting to the age where it just became inevitable as he has entered middle school.

It’s been a while since I wrote and a lot has happened that affects the Carbon County Library System since then. I’m planning to update the public on what has changed and to correct some misinformation I’ve seen going around.

A dollar doesn’t stretch as far as it used to. That much is evident when we put gas in our vehicles, buy groceries or dine out. Unfortunately, those same struggles impact the newspaper industry, as well.

We shared in our recent editorial both the academic programs that are available through the Boys and Girls Club as well as many creative/artistic programs offered. Today, we want to share two additional areas of opportunities. Below you can read about the various programs designed and vetted by the Boys and Girls Clubs of America that focus on athletic and character building.
