Albert Ray Walker

Albert Ray Walker was born Jan. 15, 1942 in Rawlins to Leonard Albert and Geraldine Ida (Ashley) Walker, his grandparents being Bert and Madeline Walker, of Saratoga, and Carl and Ida Ashley, of Encampment. He was raised on his parent’s ranch, the Freeland Cattle Company, on Pass Creek and attended grade school and high school in Saratoga.

Jane Woodward

Jane Woodward, age 80, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away Jan. 24, 2013. She was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Brownsville, Texas, to William A. and Lily Belle (Spivey) Rasco.
Jane was baptized in First Christian Church and later attended the Presbyterian Church. She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&I at Kingsville and her master’s from the University of Portland in Oregon.

Bobbie Swales

Bobbie Swales, of Encampment, passed away at the age of 74, on Feb. 2, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County following a short illness.
She was born in Walnut Ridge, Ark., on March 20, 1938.

Thomas Lee Runner

Local relatives and friends were recently notified of the death of former Valley resident Thomas Lee Runner. He died Dec. 10, 2012, in West Palm Beach, Fla., following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 2, 1948, in Denver, Colo., and was adopted at birth by John and Marjorie Runner, of Saratoga. He grew up on the Runner Hereford Ranch south of town and graduated from Platte Valley High in 1966.

Ray Walker

The Saratoga Sun received word Monday that Ray Walker has died.
Ray was born Jan. 15, 1942 to Len and Gerry Walker, owners of the Freeland Cattle Co. on Pass Creek, which is now the TA Ranch headquarters.

June E. Wenger

June E. Wenger, 89, of Saratoga, formerly of Butte, Mont., passed away on Jan. 17, 2013, at the Valley View Nursing Center in Saratoga.
She had worked as a secretary and was a communicant of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Saratoga. June enjoyed painting and writing letters to friends, and is remembered as a lady who always enjoyed bringing laughter into other’s lives.

Frances Bybee

Dr. Frances Juanita Bybee went home to be with her Lord on Dec.19, 2012 in Cheyenne.
Frances was born in Zwolle, Louisiana on July 5, 1930 to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ebarb.
Frances lead an extraordinary life of achievement and educational excellence. She was a career educator and a true leader in her field. She graduated high school at the age of 16, graduated college at the age of 19.
