    The Valley Service Organization is hosting the Snowshoe Shuffle, Tuesday night snowshoe hike events, again this year after they gained popularity last year. According to a press release, the hikes are different each week and are followed by a short visit to a different bar or restaurant for snacks and refreshments.     Two members of the Saratoga Panther track and field team are competing in indoor track for Laramie High School. Jeremy Detterer, of Saratoga, and Ashlynn Johnson, of Encampment, competed in Gillette last weekend. Detterer placed 7th place in the 3200 meter race with a time of 10 minutes and 57.52 seconds. He placed 11th in the 1600 meter with a time of 4:55.33. Johnson placed 9th in the 4x400 meter relay B team with a time of 4:42.61. She placed 19th in the high jump with four feet two inches.     This weekend, sheriff badges with black bands around them were showing up on Facebook in remembrance of Carbon County Sheriff’s Office Patrolman Derrek Craig.     Laramie Region Aquatic Habitat Biologist Christina Barrineau had help from the Laramie Habitat and Access crew and employees of Stantec to plant willows and cottonwoods on the Boykin Reach of the Encampment River habitat project. The cobble rocks used to stabilize the river bank make it difficult for vegetation to grow, so biologists plant woody species to help hold soil in place.
