Organized by Carbon County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Hale, the event will be raising money for the Saratoga Volunteer Fire Department.     On Sunday, June 10, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m. the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Cole Nuhring, stating his friend later—to be identified as Justin Siler (19)— had fallen off a boulder at the South French Creek overlook. Deputy Justin Hale was notified and responded to the scene.     The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will hold a hunter education class in Saratoga the last week of June. The class will meet on the following days: Tuesday, June 26 from 1-5 p.m., Thursday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Friday, June 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The class will meet at the Saratoga Town Hall, 110 E.     Cool weather and consistent rains aided fire crews over the weekend in containing the Badger Creek Fire. While the fire had been doubling it’s size on a daily basis throughout the week, it held steady at 20,000 acres during the cloudy and rainy weekend. As of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, the Badger Creek Fire is 88 percent contained. Road WYO 10 was reopened during the weekend and WYO 230 was opened as of Tuesday morning.     U.S. Forest Service and Albany County fire personnel responded to a wildfire Sunday afternoon in the southern Snowy Range, Medicine Bow National Forest, which forced evacuations from multiple locations due to rapid growth. As of Sunday, 9 p.m. the Badger Creek Fire was roughly estimated at 100 acres and there is no containment. The cause of the fire is unknown and its’ origin is near Forest Road 501, and between Badger Creek and the North Fork of Pelton Creek.     Carbon County Road 401 and Forest Road 801, also known as Sage Creek Road, will be undergoing repairs from mile post 10 to 62 starting June 1. The improvements are funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Central Federal Lands Highway Division in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service and Carbon County.
