    Valley residents were witness to a huge pillar of smoke rising from beyond Battle Pass on Sunday as the newly begun Ryan Fire grew to consume 1,832 acres.     A fatal crash between a local resident and a couple from Alabama occurred in the early evening of Sept. 4 near the intersection of Wyoming Highways 130 and 230.     In a recent press release, the Saratoga Museum Board announced it would be closing the museum for the season on Sept. 2 due to the “sudden and unexpected resignation of Saratoga Museum Director Mikayla Larrow.” The museum board cited both Larrow’s departure and a lack of docents for the early closure, which was decided at a meeting held in August.
