    In August, the congregation of the First Presbyterian Church of Saratoga Wyoming called Steve R. Niccolls, of the California Bay Area, to be their new minister. He is scheduled to deliver his first sermon from the local pulpit Sunday (All Saints Day), with the bible passage from Romans 1:15-17. Niccolls said he will focus on Luther and his discovery of salvation by faith during his initial appearance here. Niccolls arrived in Saratoga Tuesday and will soon be joined by his wife, Emily.   • CCEDC Hosts Chili Cook-off/Chocolate Fest

    The Carbon County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) is holding their second annual Chocolate Fest and adding a Chili Cook-off as well on Nov. 7 at the Valley Community Center in Baggs.     The Saratoga Community Garden will receive $19,924 for agricultural experiments and data collection in 2016 from the United States Department of Agriculture. One project will compare three types of garden beds. A hügelkultur bed will be constructed from an inner core of logs and wood scrap which is covered with dirt and humus.     Hunters now have an extra month to purchase preference points with the recent change of the preference point deadline from Sept. 30 to Oct. 31. The preference point deadline will be even longer this year – to Nov. 2 since Oct. 31 is on a weekend.     The Laramie Game and Fish office has received several complaints from livestock grazers on the Red Rim-Grizzly Wildlife Habitat Management Area (WHMA) near Rawlins about gates being left open.
