For the 36th year, the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce (SPVCC) invites everyone to compete in the Saratoga Ice Fishing Derby. Taking place on Jan. 19 and 20, participants will have the opportunity to win the $2,000 first prize by catching the largest fish during the two-day derby. On Dec. 15, Platte Valley Martial Arts (PVMA) held color belt testing for all three of its classes: Little Dragons, Taekwondo and Judo. The Little Dragons class, according to the press release from PVMA, is intended for younger students between 3-6 years old "with a focus on basic balance and coordination skills." Union Wireless has completed construction of their high-speed fiber optic network in the downtown Saratoga area and the service provider said, in a recent press release, that it is now online and ready for customers to sign-up. According to a recent press release from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD), the body of a cow moose was recently discovered around Jack Creek on Oct. 26. Dick Perue will present an hour-long slide program featuring views a passenger would enjoy while riding the stage from Walcott Junction to Pearl, Colo., in the early 1900s.
