The students traveled to London, Paris, Florence and Rome in a whirlwind weeklong tour making new friends from schools in Chicago and Philadelphia and learning that the United States is very different in many ways to the countries they visited. Because the group from Saratoga only had 20 people on the tour, they were combined with other...

    Liz Wood|May 6, 2015

It's not unusual to see bicyclers traveling through Saratoga, since the town is located on the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail. Unless it is in April. Two bicyclists stopped in Saratoga April 26 and were enjoying some craft beer at the Saratoga Resort and Spa. They really didn't want to bike out to Saratoga Lake Campground after they day they had. Tuesday morning, it was business as usual at Deseret Health and Rehab. The nursing home was built in 1975 by Kendall McBride and was operated by him and his sister Carolyn Vyvey for seven years. The Saratoga Lions Club had guaranteed the bond. If the bonds were not paid, the members of the Lions Club would personally be responsible for the loan, according to an...

  • Lizzy's perfekt column

    Liz Wood|Apr 29, 2015

This newspaper is my 501st issue of the Saratoga Sun. I know this, because we were talking about it the other day and I decided to take the time to add it up. In 19 short weeks, I will have completed 10 years at the Saratoga Sun. I say “short weeks”, because since I started working at the Saratoga Sun, boy does time fly. My weekly joke is if I put out a perfect paper, I will retire. Well, as you can clearly see, retirement will have to wait. Earlier this month as I was taking photos at prom, I r...
